Google is launching it’s very own open source browser, Google Chrome. They jumped the gun on sending out an email containing a comic book introducing their new browser set for beta release on September 2nd so they’ve made the comic book available to everyone. I was never a big comic book fan growing up, but that being said, this book is genius.

I’ve started reading it and i recommend you grab the pdf version, google books was taking forever to load. Not only is it a clever way to market a new product launch, it’s a wealth of information behind the curtain of how modern browsers work.

They could have just released some boring 20 page white paper but instead they’ve produced this wonderful comic. The comic is illustrated by Scott McCloud author of the famous Making Comics. I urge anyone who’s even remotely interested in how browsers work to give this a read, i promise you won’t be disappointed.
