So if you haven&#8217;t heard by now, here it is. Google is launching it&#8217;s very own open source browser, Google Chrome. <a href="http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2008/09/fresh-take-on-browser.html">They jumped the gun</a> on sending out an email containing a comic book introducing their new browser set for beta release on September 2nd so they&#8217;ve made <a href="http://books.google.com/books?id=8UsqHohwwVYC&#038;printsec=frontcover">the comic book</a> available to everyone. I was never a big comic book fan growing up, but that being said, this book is genius.
</p>
<p><span id="more-23"></span></p>
<p>
<img src="http://travisjbeck.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/google-chrome.gif" alt="" title="google-chrome" width="107" height="107" class="alignright size-full wp-image-25" />I&#8217;ve started reading it and i recommend you grab the <a href="http://books.google.com/books/pdf/Google_Chrome.pdf?id=8UsqHohwwVYC&#038;output=pdf&#038;sig=ACfU3U1nmiVEmBYhQVbdY-J6BRpSJO0EhA">pdf version</a>, google books was taking forever to load. Not only is it a clever way to market a new product launch, it&#8217;s a wealth of information behind the curtain of how modern browsers work.
</p>
<p>
They could have just released some boring 20 page white paper but instead they&#8217;ve produced this wonderful comic. The comic is illustrated by <a href="http://www.scottmccloud.com/">Scott McCloud</a> author of the famous <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Making-Comics-Storytelling-Secrets-Graphic/dp/0060780940/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&#038;s=books&#038;qid=1220324355&#038;sr=8-1">Making Comics</a>. I urge anyone who&#8217;s even remotely interested in how browsers work to give this a read, i promise you won&#8217;t be disappointed.</p>
